How do I request a BGSU Group Visit?
To request a BGSU Group Visit, please email groupvisit@bgsu.edu.Please reach out at least 4 weeks prior to your ideal visit date, so our team has time to make necessary arrangements. Be sure to include the following information:
- Expected number of students
- Age level of students
- Ideal dates for your visit (please include as many options as possible)
Once your request is received, someone from the BGSU Group Visit Team will reply to finalize details.

Who can request a group visit?
Group visits are offered for high school students only (grades 9 - 12). We are unable to accommodate requests for elementary or middle school students. When can we bring our group for a visit?
Group visits are offered on select Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. We cannot accommodate group visits on Mondays, Fridays, weekends, holidays or dates when we're hosting large events.
How many students can we bring?
We ask that your group does not exceed 50 students. Some exceptions to this can be made, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis; be sure to include the number of students in your group when sending your email request to groupvisit@bgsu.edu.
How many chaperones should accompany our group?
Groups are required to provide 1 chaperone for every 10 students in the group; chaperones must stay with their group at all times, including on the campus tour. Can we eat lunch on campus during our group visit?
Summer Visits (May - August)
During this timeframe, NO on-campus dining halls are available. We recommend making arrangements to dine off campus, after your visit concludes. If you're visiting over the summer and interested in bringing packed lunches, please note:
- We do not have refrigeration available and cannot store the lunches during your visit.
- Over the summer, we are not able to reserve spaces indoors for lunch. Some groups visiting over the summer will opt to have lunch outside, weather permitting.
- Again, we recommend making arrangements to dine off campus, after your visit concludes.
Fall and Spring Visits (September - April)
If your group is visiting during this timeframe and you're interested in dining on campus, we can make arrangements at our all-you-care-to-eat dining facility, Social House at The Oaks.
Your school/organization is responsible for the cost of lunch, payable to the facility on the day of your visit. Current cost is $14.50 per person* plus tax, payable by credit card, debit card or check. (Note: as of 2024, all dining facilities on campus are cashless.) If your school or organization is tax-exempt, please bring documentation of your tax-exempt status with you to the dining facility, and you will not be charged tax.
*Dining hall costs are subject to change.
