May - August is "summer session" at BGSU. While summer is a great time to visit, campus tends to be quiet during this time of year.

Our summer visits are designed to offer a first-look introduction to BGSU.

    • Visits to specific buildings and day-of requests for meetings are difficult to accommodate, especially over the summer when most faculty are away from campus.
    • If you’re interested in a personalized experience, please reach out to your BGSU admissions counselor at least 2 weeks in advance.
    • Personalized meetings and tours cannot be accommodated on Saturdays, holidays or during large visit days (like Destination: BGSU.)
    • Many departments and academic programs host in-person meetings that complement the general campus visit and don't require a special request or extra planning. Registration for these academic experiences is required and is separate from registration for the general campus visit.  Learn more!
    • Remember, we’ll have a full slate of events in the fall, too. Most students visit BGSU a few times as they navigate their college search.

Visits and tours will take place, rain or shine, snow or heat!)

    • General campus tours are approximately 90-minutes and include time outside as you visit spaces like our student recreation center, the student union, residence halls, outdoor spaces and a general academic buildings.
    • The tour route distance is approximately 2.5 miles.
    • We recommend dressing for the weather, wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a refillable water bottle, especially on hot days.
    • Golf cart tours are not available.

    Inclement Weather

    • The general campus tour route is subject to change if weather is poor. This can include thunderstorms, extreme cold or extreme heat.
    • While this does not happen often, if the University is closed due to inclement weather, visits will likely be cancelled. We will notify all registered guests via email and text message, using the information provided when registering.
    • Be sure to check the weather in Bowling Green, Ohio before travelling to campus.
