Honors College Awards Competition Weekend

Congratulations on being selected as a finalist for the Honors College Awards Competition Weekend at Bowling Green State University! Below you will find details and registration. We look forward to having you join us! Both students and guests are invited to join us for each portion of the competition weekend.

Note: your presence at the interview is required for award consideration.

Honors Exploration Day - Friday, Jan. 26

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Eastern.

• Connect with academic representatives and a variety of student services in our exhibitor area. Take time to learn about your major while also learning about education abroad, club sports, student housing and more!

The formal program will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern.

• You'll work your way through a few helpful presentations developed with you in mind. Sessions include a mock class experience, exploring the Honors Learning Community and a current student panel. 
• Lunch will be provided. Current students and staff look forward to joining you for lunch and conversation! You will also hear from a current Honors College student. 
• Following lunch, you have the option to join us for a 60-minute campus tour. The campus tour will include a few stops in a few student life spaces, including classroom spaces, the Student Union and our recreation center (great for first-time visitors!)
• Ready to submit your housing payment or have questions about your next steps toward attending BGSU? Admissions staff will be available to assist at the event all day. You can let us know you're planning to attend BGSU in-person!

Honors College Awards Competition Reception - Friday, Jan. 26 

Dress code: Business professional 
Check-in begins at 4:15 p.m., and the formal program beings at 5 p.m. 

• At this formal reception, we look forward to celebrating you and your accomplishments while preparing for your interview on Saturday. Enjoy heavy appetizers and time with current Honors scholars, BGSU faculty and staff. 
• Students will receive their interview time at the conclusion of the reception.

Honors College Awards Competition Interviews - Saturday, Jan. 27

Dress code: Business professional
Interviews last around 25 minutes and will take place anytime between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

• Students will receive their interview time on Friday, January 26.
• Once interviews are complete, students are free to go.  Parents and guests are invited to wait in the Honors College Den during their student's interview time.
