Program Overview / Qualifications

Summer programs through BGSU allow you a chance to move in early and get acclimated to campus before everyone arrives. It's a great way to meet friends and give you a little bit of a boost before your Falcon Future begins. Each program has a specific theme and purpose. Descriptions of each program will appear when you make a selection and then you will be presented with additional required fields before submission.

Do not submit this form if you do not meet the minimum qualifications listed below for the program to which you plan to apply.

- Must be a first-year student attending BGSU fall 2025
- Application deadline: Friday, July 25, 2025 at 5:00pm Eastern

TRIO Summer Link Program Minimum Qualifications
- Must apply to TRIO Student Support Services
- Must demonstrate academic need AND meet one of the following three criteria:
  - Be a first-generation student (parents/guardians have not earned a bachelor's degree or higher)
  - Meet income eligibility guidelines as defined by the U.S. Department of Education
- Be registered with BGSU Accessibility Services

The Link Program

Bowling Green State University’s The Link program is a free five-day summer program geared toward first-year students. During this program, you will meet and connect with other first-year students, learn more about common aspects of college life and the BGSU experience and enjoy academic and co-curricular activities. The program will provide you with tools and resources contributing to the success of your first year in college. This is also the perfect way for you to jump start your life as a Falcon!

Dates: Saturday, August 16 - Wednesday, August 20
Early move-in required (Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025)

Minimum qualification: Must be a first-year student attending BGSU fall 2025

TRIO Summer Link Program

TRIO Summer Link is a free early move-in program for first-year students admitted to TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). During TRIO Summer Link, you will meet TRIO staff and other incoming SSS students, get used to campus and learn about BGSU resources, time management and goal setting for the academic year. TRIO Summer Link participants will do on-campus and day-long field trip activities to explore cultural events and career options. Plus, it’s a lot of fun!

TRIO SSS serves United States students from first-generation and low-income backgrounds and students with registration with BGSU Accessibility Services. Students from these backgrounds are admitted based on the need for academic support.
